The grading system begins at grade initial for beginners and continues through to grade 8. Every pupil at Musical Six Strings will undergo an initial assessment to determine their current grade level in accordance with, the Trinity College of London (TCL) syllabus.
Grades 6-8 are a minimum requirement for students hoping to be put forward for further education such as a diploma or higher. We encourage our pupils to work toward completing each grade, however, we do also cater to pupils that are just aiming to hone their current skills and expand on their musical repertoire.

The Rock School syllabus focuses on merging the techniques required for both acoustic and electric guitar. The aim of the syllabus is to build a skill set that will be useful in building a repertoire that suits both instruments,
with an emphasis on a variety of finger and plectrum techniques. Students will be encouraged to explore a wide range of styles including, rock-and-pop, jazz, blues, and country. All students are welcome at Musical Six Strings regardless of age or ability.
Our learning packages are built around each of our pupil’s unique set of circumstances. There is no requirement to bring, or own a guitar, as we
are happy to provide one for use on-site.
We also offer one-to-one, online lessons to any student experiencing traveling issues.
We run 30 minute, 45 minute and 1 hour lessons. We recommend beginners start with the half hour lesson as there is a lot to take in initially.
Prices vary depending on each pupils specific requirements.
As a complete beginner you will be taken through the Alfred's system which has been renowned world wide for over 50 years, as the most comprehensive and effective method of learning guitar.
